Herbal Preparations 101

 Roll up your sleeves and learn how to make herbal medicinal preparations through direct hands-on experience. Practice making teas—infusions and decoctions, an infused oil, a tincture/extract, a poultice, and a compress. Make a salve as a group and Delena will demonstrate how to make capsules.

$75      10 am- 12 pm

Supplies, light snacks and beverages provided.

This workshop includes:

-Hand out with instructions for making each medicine and dosages

-Each participant will practice making two teas: one infusion and one decoction, an infused oil, a tincture/extract, a poultice, and a compress.

-Each participant will make and take home their own custom tincture and a tea blend (valued at $32)

-Capsule-making demonstration

-Group project: Salve-making demonstration—everyone will take home a 0.5-ounce tin as a special gift ($8 value)

Instructor: Delena Rose Tsang, B.Sc., B.Ed., M.Ed, Certified Herbalist

Delena has been studying natural health and herbology, making plant medicine, and making/selling her own natural body and home care products for over 15 years. Her practice is guided by her Indigenous (Metis) culture and scientific background (biology, botany, plant intelligence, ecology). As an educator, Delena loves spending time with people on her land, in her garden, and in her kitchen.
