Wild & Domestic Berry Medicine

An introduction to the berries that grow in central Alberta and the medicine they provide. 

11 am-2 pm 

Snacks and beverages provided

Workshop includes:

  • Hand-out
  • Instruction and demonstrations
    • Overview of our local berries—both wild and domestic
    • Safety, ethical harvesting, and foraging tips
    • How to prepare and use berries in basic medicines: teas (infusions/decoctions), tinctures/extracts, infused oil, and syrups
  • Make a tincture, infused oil and blended tea (valued at $30)
  • Tasting: try a wide variety of jams, jellies, compotes, syrups, teas and “nature pop.”
  • Free gift (valued at $8)

Instructor: Delena Rose Tsang, B.Sc., B.Ed., M.Ed

Delena has been studying natural health and herbology, making plant medicine, and making/selling her own natural body and home care products for over 14 years. Her practice is guided by her Indigenous (Metis) culture and scientific background (biology, ecology). As an educator, Delena loves spending time with people on her land, in her garden, and in her kitchen.
