11 am-2 pm on Pigeon Lake
Snacks and beverages provided
Being a baby—or child—is extremely hard work! Their brains and bodies are growing at a rapid rate as they learn to navigate the world around them. As their caregivers, it is essential to understand how to best support them as the children in our lives grow and develop.
In this workshop, we will explore the gentlest yet most effective herbs that are safe for babies and children and learn how to make the medicine ourselves.
This workshop includes:
· Handout with all of the recipes and information covered in this workshop
· Plant Walk on Delena’s property
- Instruction and demonstrations
- How to use plant medicine to care for common ailments, such as colic, teething, cradle cap, diaper rash, earaches, fevers, cough & colds, burns, cuts and scrapes, stye, nausea, and more
- Preparing basic medicines: teas (infusions/decoctions), tinctures, extracts, infused oils, compresses and poultices
· Medicine-making: make your own tincture, infused oil and tea blend (valued at $40)
· Free gift of salve from Delena (valued at $10)
Please dress for the weather. In case of heavy rain and/or thunderstorms we will have a Plant Talk (instead of a Plant Walk) indoors and I will harvest plants beforehand for medicine-making.
Kids/Teens are welcome to sign up. Kids 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Use the code KIDS10 at checkout to receive $10 off of the kids/teen ticket (email me if you are registering more than one child).
