Plant Medicine Garden 

An introduction to growing and making your own medicine.

11 am-2pm on Pigeon Lake, AB

Workshop includes:

  • Hand out
  • Plant Walk on Delena’s property
  • Instruction, demonstrations and medicine-making
    • What is plant medicine, and how is it different from mainstream medicine?
    • Ten medicinal plants you can easily grow in your garden and their healing properties—garlic, oregano, basil, rosemary, thyme, dill, parsley, lavender, peppermint and sage
    • When/how to harvest these plants and what part of the plant to use (leaf, root, and/or flower)
    • Three common “weeds” that we are often trying to get OUT of our gardens that are actually very powerful medicines
    • How to create a variety of medicines with each plant—teas, poultices, tinctures, infused oils, and salves
    • Make your own tincture, infused oil, and tea blend (valued at $40)
    • Free gift (valued at $8

Please dress for the weather. In case of heavy rain and/or thunderstorms we will have a Plant Talk (instead of a Plant Walk) indoors and I will harvest plants beforehand for medicine-making.

Instructor: Delena Rose Tsang, B.Sc., B.Ed., M.Ed

Delena has been studying natural health and herbology, making plant medicine, and making/selling her own natural body and home care products for over 14 years. Her practice is guided by her Indigenous (Metis) culture and scientific background (biology, ecology). As an educator, Delena loves spending time with people on her land, in her garden, and in her kitchen.
