Detox your Home… Naturally

11 am-1 pm on Pigeon Lake, AB

Did you know that most common household cleaners that we use every day may create serious health hazards in our homes and are harmful to our health? Mild exposure to many of these chemicals may cause headaches, dizziness, skin reactions, as well as eye, nose and throat irritation. Chemical exposure can also trigger a serious asthma attack. Full-on exposure may cause skin burns, while prolonged exposure over time may cause gastrointestinal irritation, pulmonary edema, neurological dysfunction, kidney dysfunction or even severe lung or liver damage.

In this 2-hour workshop, we’ll look at the most common chemicals found in most household cleaners—and their effects on our bodies. Then we’ll explore natural alternatives to replace these harmful products. Finally, we’ll roll up our sleeves and spend the rest of our time together creating a cleaning kit to take home.

This workshop includes:

·       Handout with all of the recipes and information covered in this workshop

·       Supplies and ingredients to make natural laundry detergent, a general household          cleaner, window and glass spray, and air freshener (total value: $35)

·       Bar of natural dish soap or stain remover—made locally by Lynne at Wizard Lake Soaps

·       Wooden scrub brush (valued at $7)

·       Snacks and beverages (valued at $7)

·       Free gift from Delena (valued at $8)
