Plant Medicine for Baby & Child
Being a baby—or child—is extremely hard work! Their brains and bodies are growing rapidly as they learn to navigate the world around them. As their caregivers, it is essential to understand how to best support the children in our lives as they grow and develop.
In this workshop, we will explore the gentlest yet most effective herbs that are safe for babies and children and learn how to make the medicine ourselves.
$85 10 am-1 pm
Supplies, light snacks and beverages provided.
This workshop includes:
-Handout with all of the recipes and information covered in this workshop
-Plant Walk on Delena’s property, identifying the plants supporting baby and child health
-Instruction and demonstrations:
How to use plant medicine to care for common ailments, such as colic, teething, cradle cap, diaper rash, earaches, fevers, cough & colds, burns, cuts and scrapes, stye, nausea, and more.
Preparing basic medicines: teas (infusions/decoctions), tinctures, extracts, infused oils, compresses and poultices.
-Medicine-making: make your own tincture and infused oil (valued at $32)
-Special gift (valued at $10)
Please dress for the weather. In case of heavy rain and/or thunderstorms, we will have a Plant Talk (instead of a Plant Walk) indoors, and I will harvest plants beforehand for medicine-making.

Instructor: Delena Rose Tsang, B.Sc., B.Ed., M.Ed, Certified Herbalist
Delena has been studying natural health and herbology, making plant medicine, and making/selling her own natural body and home care products for over 15 years. Her practice is guided by her Indigenous (Metis) culture and scientific background (biology, botany, plant intelligence, ecology). As an educator, Delena loves spending time with people on her land, in her garden, and in her kitchen.
